Steamed rice rolls made to order with silky, thin sheets.
Classic bánh cuốn shop now at 94 Quán Thánh, famous for super-thin rice rolls filled with pork and wood ear mushroom. Rolls are steamed and assembled to order, then topped with fried shallots and served with warm fish sauce and herbs. The space is basic but slightly more comfortable than a sidewalk stall, with fans or simple AC and indoor seating. Great for breakfast or a light meal. (Facebook)
Usually easy to get a seat, though mornings can be busy. — No reservations; best enjoyed earlier in the day.
Fillings include pork and fish sauce; not suitable for vegetarians.
